What’s the difference between a Fixed Price and a Regular Quote?
A Fixed Price is an upfront, all-inclusive fee for standard moves — it includes loading, transport, and unloading within 20 miles. A Regular Quote is tailored to more complex or long-distance jobs and is based on specific requirements like packing, dismantling, or additional stops.
I don't see an answer to my question. What should I do?

Why is your service “ground-to-ground”?
Our standard service is “ground-to-ground”, meaning we collect your items from the ground floor at your current address and deliver them to the ground floor at your new property.
This keeps our pricing fair and predictable. If stairs, lifts, or additional floors are involved, we can absolutely accommodate that — we just ask that you let us know in advance so we can allocate the right team, time, and equipment, and quote accordingly.

Will my move be cheaper if I’m only going a few miles away?
Not necessarily. Even for short-distance moves, the same level of planning, care, loading and unloading effort, and number of crew members is required. While mileage is a small part of your quote, the majority of the cost covers the time, labour, and service quality you receive — which doesn’t change just because the destination is closer.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend booking at least 1–2 weeks in advance, especially during busier times. Peak moving season runs from April to September, so to ensure availability during that period, it's best to book at least 1 month ahead. That said, don’t hesitate to get in touch — we’ll always do our best to fit you in, even at short notice.

Do you offer relocation and removal services beyond the South East of England?
Yes, we do! We proudly provide relocation and removal services across the UK, not just within the South East. Wherever you’re moving, our expert team is ready to ensure a smooth and stress-free experience.

Do you dismantle and reassemble furniture?
We can — but this is not included in the standard fixed price. If you need this service, please let us know beforehand for an accurate quote and complete our quote form.

Why is my move planned over two days if I need packing and dismantling services?
When packing and dismantling are part of your move, we often schedule the service over two days — with packing completed the day before your moving day.
This approach ensures:

Furniture is safely dismantled without delay or stress
Moving day runs smoothly, with no last-minute surprises or chaos

I have pets — what do you suggest to keep them calm during the move?

Moving can be just as stressful for pets as it is for people — sometimes more! To help keep your furry friends calm and safe, we recommend:
✅ Arrange Pet Care for Moving Day Have a friend, family member, or pet sitter care for your pets away from the action. It reduces stress and keeps them safe from open doors and heavy lifting.
✅ Prepare Their Space If they’ll be staying with you, set up a quiet room with their favourite toys, bed, and water bowl. Keep them away from the noise and hustle.
✅ Stick to Routines Feed and walk them at their usual times to maintain a sense of normalcy.
✅ Travel Comfortably Transport pets in a well-ventilated crate or carrier. Familiar blankets or toys can help ease anxiety during the journey.

What isn’t included in the Fixed Price?

What happens if I forget to include some of my belongings when filling out the quote form — and there’s more on moving day?
We totally understand — moving is hectic, and sometimes things get missed. But here’s what you need to know:
✅ We’ll assess on the day: If the extra items are minor and don’t affect time or van space, we’ll likely include them without any fuss.
⚖️ If it’s significantly more: More volume means more time, effort, and sometimes additional van space or crew. In this case, we’ll pause, assess the extra load, and discuss any additional cost transparently with you before proceeding.
💡 Why it matters: Your quote is based on the details you provide. The more accurate your inventory upfront, the smoother (and more budget-friendly!) your move will be.

Do you offer “man and a van” services for small or quick moves?
We don’t provide “man and a van” services. Our focus is on delivering tailored, full removal service that ensure quality, reliability, and competitive value.
I need to put my property in storage, How much storage space will I need?
That depends on your home size and how much you're moving. As a general guide:
1-bedroom = 35–50 sq ft
2-bedroom = 50–75 sq ft
3-bedroom = 100–150 sq ft We’re happy to advise — just ask during your quote
Why are you more expensive than a 'man and a van' service?
We’re a professional, fully insured removals company with trained staff, well-maintained vehicles, and a commitment to safety and care. Our prices reflect the quality, reliability, and peace of mind you receive — no surprise fees, no shortcuts, and service you can trust. Our fleet is composed of Luton Van with offer better transport for your property.
What do you consider when quoting my move?

Ever wondered what affects the price of a move, or why one quote might seem higher than another? Here’s what we consider to ensure your fixed-price quote is as accurate and fair as possible:

📍 Distance: Whether it’s a few miles or across counties, mileage affects cost — especially beyond our 20-mile fixed-price zone.
📦 Volume & Weight: The size of your home and how much you’re moving matters — more items mean more loading time, more space in the van, and potentially a bigger team.
🗓️ Date & Time: Weekend or peak season (April to September) moves tend to cost more due to demand.
🏢 Access Issues: Stairs, tight entrances, parking restrictions, or long walks from the van all require extra planning and time.
⏰ Additional Services: Packing, dismantling, or reassembly? We’re happy to help, but these add time and labour, which we factor into the cost.
Why do I see other SSS Removals websites or pages online?
SSS Removals was originally founded in 2011. After a pause during COVID, we rebranded and relaunched in 2025 as a limited company — so you might see some older pages still online. Look for our new logo, new site, and trusted reviews.
Will your team move items from lofts, sheds, or storage units?
Only if this has been agreed in writing in advance. Our fixed price does not cover these areas due to access and time requirements. Request a quote.
I’m unsure of my moving date — it depends on when I exchange contracts and complete. What should I do?
You're not alone — this is one of the most common concerns in home moves.
We understand that exchange and completion dates can shift, sometimes with little notice. That’s why we offer flexible booking options. You can pencil in a preferred moving date with us in advance, and once your dates are confirmed, we’ll do everything we can to secure your slot.
To help you feel prepared:
✅ You can reserve a provisional booking with no pressure.
💳 Paying your deposit secures your spot and gives your move priority in our calendar.
🕒 If your date changes, we’ll work with you to adjust where possible.
📦 We recommend staying in touch with your solicitor or estate agent and keeping us updated along the way.
Tip: During peak season (April–September), dates fill quickly — so if you’re even close to exchange, reach out early to get the best availability.
Do you offer house clearance services?
No — we do not offer house clearance, as we do not hold an environmental waste licence. If you need this service, we recommend using a licensed waste removal provider. This ensures items are disposed of legally and responsibly, and helps you avoid issues like fly-tipping fines and/or fines.
