Terms & Conditions – Fixed-Price Moving Service
1. Booking & Down Payment

A deposit of 50% is required at the time of booking to secure your moving date.

Full payment must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled move unless otherwise agreed.

Payment can be made via bank transfer, or cash
2. Cancellations Policy
To ensure fairness and compliance with UK consumer protection laws, our cancellation policy is as follows:

More than 7 days before the move Full refund of the deposit.
-
3 to 7 days before the move 50% of the deposit is refunded.
-
Less than 48 hours before the move No refund of the deposit, and 50% of the total service fee will be charged.

Same-day cancellations No refund, and the full service fee will be charged.
Exceptions:
If the cancellation is due to circumstances beyond your control (e.g., medical emergency, extreme weather, or government restrictions), we may offer a partial refund or credit towards a future booking.
3. Rescheduling Policy
Rescheduling is allowed free of charge if requested at least 5 days in advance, subject to availability.
If rescheduling is requested within 48 hours of the move, a £30 rescheduling fee applies.If rescheduling is requested on the same day as the move, it will be treated as a cancellation (no refund), and a new booking will be required.
4. Fixed Pricing & Mileage

The fixed price includes loading, transportation, and unloading within 20 miles of the pickup location.

Moves beyond 20 miles will be charged at £1.20 per additional mile.

Parking fees, tolls, and congestion charges (e.g., London Congestion Zone) are the responsibility of the customer.
5. Packing & Preparation Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for packing their belongings before our team arrives.

We do not provide packing or unpacking services under the fixed-price service unless arranged separately.

6. Moving Crew & Overtime Policy

Every move is carried out by a minimum crew of two professional movers.
-
Our moving teams are scheduled for an 8-hour shift per job.
-
If the move exceeds 8 hours due to reasons beyond our control (e.g., delays in receiving property keys, client delays, or additional unforeseen work), overtime charges of £50 per hour per crew member will apply.

Overtime charges will be invoiced separately and must be settled on the same day of service completion.
7. Liability & Insurance
We take utmost care with all items, but our standard liability covers damages up to £40 per item unless otherwise agreed in writing.
SSS Removals will not be liable for any items packed by the client. If an item is damaged due to inadequate or improper packing by the customer, we will not accept responsibility for the damage.
Limited Liability Applies To:

Any self-packed boxes or belongings—clients are responsible for ensuring proper packing and protection.

Pre-existing damage to furniture or fragile items.
-
Items not securely packed, cushioned, or labeled correctly by the client.
Insurance Add-Ons: Customers can request additional insurance coverage at an extra cost.
8. Excluded Items & Safety Regulations

We do NOT transport:
❌ Hazardous materials (flammables, chemicals, gas cylinders, etc.)
❌ Perishable food or live animals
❌ Illegal goods or prohibited items

Fragile or high-value items (e.g., antiques, electronics, glassware) must be disclosed in advance for proper handling.
9. Fixed Price Coverage
Our fixed-price moving service applies strictly to the contents of the main house only. This includes all rooms within the property such as bedrooms, living areas, kitchen, and bathrooms. Garages, sheds, outside buildings, annexes, lofts, and storage units are not included in the fixed-price offering unless otherwise agreed in writing before the move.
If additional items from these areas need to be moved, please inform us in advance, as they may require an additional fee or a separate quotation. Any last-minute additions outside of the main house contents may be subject to extra charges or may not be accommodated due to space and time constraints.
10. Delays & Unforeseen Circumstances

While we aim to complete moves on time, we are not liable for delays due to traffic, weather, road closures, or unforeseen incidents.

If the customer is not ready at the scheduled time, waiting time charges may apply.
11. Customer Responsibilities
-
The customer must ensure:
✅ Parking arrangements are secured for loading/unloading.
✅ All items are packed, labeled, and ready for transport.
✅ Someone is present at the pickup and drop-off locations.
12. Complaints & Claims

Any damage claims must be reported within 48 hours of the move, with photographic evidence.

We will assess all claims fairly and work toward a resolution.
